Toan Nguyen

Currently based in Milan, Toan Nguyen was born in Paris where he graduated in 1995 in industrial design at ENSCI - Les Atéliers . After studying he began to work for various design offices in Paris, Barcelona and Milan: 1998 marking the beginning of his collaboration with Antonio Cittero, initially as design director, before in 2004 he became a partner. Here he designed products for Axor-Hansgrohe, B&B Italia, Flos, Iittala, Kartell, Technogym, and Vitra. In 2008, he founded his own design office in Milan, which also has a branch office in Paris and from where he works for leading companies in Germany, the USA, Italy, and Spain. Amongst other projects Nguyen has developed the elegant Bellows collection together with Walter Knoll, the Penta chair for Viccarbe, the table Wow for Lema, the innovative bathroom series SaphirKeramiK in cooperation with Laufen or a complex, environmentally friendly lighting system for Vibia. Toan Nguyen's ecologically sensible designs are both simple and spectacular - he himself sums up his creative line as follows: "Anything that's no use to me weighs me down".
