Thonet nesting tables with glass table tops

In addition to the famous tubular steel cantilever chairs and bentwood chairs, Thonet has numerous coffee and side tables in its portfolio. The most famous representatives of this category are undoubtedly the Thonet nesting tables made of tubular steel, which the architect and designer Marcel Breuer designed in the 1920s and which went down in design history as a Bauhaus classic. The minimalist side tables can be easily pushed together and thus embody the Bauhaus concept of reduction and functional living. Breuer originally designed the Thonet nesting table B 9 for the canteen of the Dessau Bauhaus building, and it was also used to furnish the student apartments and the master houses of Walter Gropius. In addition to other well-known design classics by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the furniture manufacturer from Frankenberg in Hessen offers contemporary designs such as the modern 1025 side table by James Van Vossel.
