Sylvain Willenz

Belgian designer Sylvain Willenz studied at the Royal College of Art in London before founding his own design studio in Brussels in 2004. In addition to several iF Awards and a "Best of the Best" Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category, Willenz was named "Belgian Designer of the Year" in 2009. Willenz's design works cover a wide range of typologies, often inspired by graphics and drawings. The designer's penchant for clean, elegant design, which draws its tension from the ambivalence between the familiar and the unfamiliar, is reflected in his works. For the Danish manufacturer Hay Willenz designed the Rebar Table in 2018, an industrial-looking coffee table.
