Susi & Ueli Berger
Susi and Ueli Berger jointly designed furniture for a range of manufacturers. Susi Berger-Wyss was born as Susy Wyss in Lucerne in 1938, trained as a graphic artist in Bern and worked for Sandmeier AG. The sculptor, painter, draughtsman and designer Ueli Berger was born in Berne in 1938 and completed internships with various architects, including interior designer Hans Eichenberger. Between 1961 and 1971 he received three times the Federal Fellowship for Applied Art. In 1962 Susi and Ueli Berger married and the pair began cooperating professionally, creating numerous popular furniture designs including, for example, the Schubladenstapel storage system for Röthlisberger or the Cloud lamp for wb engros. The works of the Berger's have been exhibited internationally, including in the Museum of Design in Zurich, the Mobilier Suisse in the Center Pompidou Paris and the Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf. Ueli Berger died in 2008.
