Stylishly furnished in Berlin Friedrichshain

Project Synopsis
What began with the desire to try out the Rico Sofa by Ferm Living at smow Berlin quickly developed into a comprehensive interior design project: a London based family, originally just looking for a new sofa, decided, after an inspiring conversation, to commission smow Berlin to design the interior of their second home in Berlin.
The client wanted a tailor-made interior for the apartment centred around an harmonious interplay of colours and materials. The focus was to be on a finely coordinated colour concept of beige, grey and pink tones. In order to achieve the desired balance of elegance and functionality smow Berlin developed a holistic interior design concept: carefully selected surface materials, high-quality fabrics and fine leather were combined to create a warm, and simultaneously contemporary, atmosphere. Subtle pink accents set stylish highlights, while various textures provide depth and comfort. The result is a timelessly elegant living space that invites you to relax and perfectly reflects the owner's personal style.

Brief
The primary challenge was to reconcile the clients' precise aesthetic vision with their high demands on the functionality of the furniture. The design of the master bedroom, which was to serve as a sleeping, work and dressing area at the same time, was particularly demanding, not least in achieving a harmonious combination of different uses without overloading the space. The guest rooms also had to be designed to be multifunctional and to offer comfortable sleeping accommodation as well as hosting integrated work areas and sufficient storage space.
The desired play of colours with pink tones in the interior required a special design balancing act. The main task for smow Berlin was to underline the soft and warm effect of pink by combining it with neutral tones such as beige and grey to enable a harmonious and stylish ambience in which the colours are elegantly integrated without appearing playful or obtrusive.

Realisation
At the heart of the planning was a tailor-made 3D visualisation that made it possible to experience the interior design concept in a realistic way. This digital model served as the basis for precisely coordinating the finely tuned colour concept and the selection of high-quality materials and products. The extensive sampling undertaken meant that surfaces, fabrics and colours could be directly compared and integrated into the overall concept. The visualisation made the dialogue with customers much easier, as all design details could be clearly discussed and specifically adapted, thereby ensuring that the client's individual wishes were implemented down to the smallest detail.

Functionality meets aesthetics, and the modern interior elegantly reflects the design of the exterior façade. Inspired by the sophisticated Art Deco style of the 1920s, the working title "Natural Déco" was created, which is particularly noticeable in the stylishly designed lobby.
