Lieblingsring, Leipzig
Client: Lieblingsring, Leipzig
Planning: Anne Krieger (Ohja GmbH) & smow Leipzig
Year: 2022
Areas furnished: retail space, office, bathroom, kitchen
Brief
Jewellery preserves memories, especially jewellery that tells personal stories. Thus it should be no wonder that so many couples not only want to engrave their wedding rings, but also want to design them themselves: one-of-a-kind pieces, individually designed and manufactured - that requires a special kind of shopping experience.
It is precisely with this concept that Lieblingsring Leipzig has been successful for several years. So successful that company's shop came to be too small. In his search for a new home Lieblingsring owner Dirk Sowinski was looking not only for a larger space but one with a certain charisma. And found it a former hairdressing salon with lots of sinks, pipes and cables - the shell of the building was far away from the glamour of the jewellery world, but right in the centre of Leipzig. This was the starting signal for smow Leipzig to take care of the expansion and conversion together with planner Anne Krieger (Ohja GmbH) - and that in the deepest Corona period with all its pitfalls such as lockdowns, raw material bottlenecks or delivery delays.
With this ethos Dirk Sowinski, smow Leipzig and Ohja set to work. The solid wood furniture in the first store was sold, and in its place came USM Haller: chrome-plated shelves, modular design, timelessly high-quality aesthetics. And because the new store should open yesterday rather than tomorrow, conception, expansion, renovation, furnishing, delivery and shopfitting were completed between Easter and early summer - the preparation of the shopping experience in fast motion.
Project Management
Realisation
The intensive support from smow Leipzig and Anne Krieger from Ohja began when the shop was taken over. The clear, high-quality direction, which also reflects in the concept of the store and the selected speciality of the jewellery from the high-price segment, was set with the plan to furnish the store with USM Haller.
Dirk Sowinski
The jewellery store shines in elegant black, the chrome of the USM units perfectly complementing the fine jewellery in the USM vitrines. This is exactly what the sketches and the colour and material concept by planner Anne Krieger envisaged: she visualized the shop owner's ideas in drawings and mood boards, planned the wall colour, the additional designer furniture and accessories. The kitchen and bathroom area of the store also received a comprehensive new concept in terms of colours and materials. The combination of a feel-good ambience with functionality and exclusivity played a decisive role in all areas.
A new floor was installed across the entire shop area. A glass wall and door separate the sales and design space. A special lighting concept with timers and LED technology that keep costs stable was also implemented. Special acoustic images underline the elegance of the shop by reducing the sound and fit perfectly into the 'look and feel' of Lieblingsring.
Furnishing the store with USM Haller vitrines, complemented by designer classics such as Arne Jacobsen's Swan Chair from Fritz Hansen, the EA 117 Aluminium Chairs from Vitra and Fiber Armchairs from Muuto, emphasizes the store concept, as does the associated special lighting, colour, acoustic and technical concept: A different world opens up here for (engaged) couples and people with an affinity for jewellery, who create their favourite rings themselves behind the glass door and in this way make buying the piece of jewellery an experience in itself.
Despite the glass transparency, a very private area is created here with the help of the furnishings, in which you can immerse yourself in a world of glamour as if in a fairy tale. In this way, the moment of choosing or designing the ring, even before the wedding, has the potential to be immortilised in that way film fans recall from Tiffany's - a shopping experience to enchant and remember, set in elegant USM furniture.
Project Synopsis
Glamour with style: the team of experts from smow Leipzig and planner Anne Krieger have succeeded in creating a jewellery store that, with its elegant furnishings, puts the focus on jewellery and customers. The colour, light and furnishing concept are coordinated in such a way that the shop radiates perfection. Unique, in the most literal sense, Lieblingsring in Leipzig is designed to be different from ordinary jewellery shops. The store concept of that "wonderful journey into another (jewellery) world" is reflected in the design and implementation of spatial concept in. It is precisely this that makes Lieblingsring stand out from other high-quality dealers, a place where individual elegance with certain je ne ç'est quoi is brought to life and thrives.
As soon as you enter, the jewellery store has a stunning effect thanks to the high-quality, elegant USM furnishings. If you then approach the core of the business, namely the creation of individual, unique pieces of jewellery, and let yourself be carried away by the exclusivity and special lighting effects, the wedding becomes an experience even before the actual wedding date, moments immortalized by the rings. A better - or to stay in the Lieblingsring scheme - a rounder concept is hard to imagine.
