Stefano Giovannoni

Born in 1954 the designer Stefano Giovannoni studied architecture and design at the University of Florence and today lives and works in Milan. In the early 1980s he established, together with Guido Venturini, the King Kong Production Group, and realised the Girotondo collection for Alessi, for whom he has created numerous landmark works including the IlBagnoAlessi One, the Mami line for Alessi, A di Alessi or the Fiat Panda Alessi - a collaboration between Alessi and the Italian car maker Fiat. In addition Stefano Giovannoni's clients include, amongst others, KDDI, Lavazza, Magis, Maletti, Moooi, Samsung, Siemens, 3M & Veneta Cucine. In 1991 Stefano Giovannoni designed the Italian pavilion for the Les Capitales Européennes du nouveau design exhibition at the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris, he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence from 1979 to 1991, at the Domus Academy, the Università del Progetto in Reggio Emilia and at the Academy of Architecture in Genoa. Stefano Giovannoni has received numerous prizes for his work including five times the Design Plus Award from the Frankfurt Messe Ambiente, the 100% Design London award, and the New York Interior Design Award 2012.
