The PH 2/1 Table Lamp is unmistakably a work of the Danish designer Poul Henningsen, and is produced today by the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen. The collaboration with Henningsen laid the foundation for the success of Louis Poulsen and the PH 2/1 Table Lamp is only one of the numerous products designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen. All Henningsen lamps are characterized by the combination of aesthetic design and smart technology. This primarily is visualised by the three shaded opal glass lamp head, as also reflected in the pendant lamp collection. With the Louis Poulsen table lamp this results in the radiation of a diffuse, warm light symmetrically downwards and sideways. The PH lamp series currently includes table lamps in different combinations of materials and in a range of sizes, and which cut a classically elegant figure in any room.

What does the '2/1' stand for in the PH 2/1 table lamp?
Since their creation in the late 1920s a dual number system has been used for the names of Poul Henningsen lamps with their three-part shade system.
The numbers provide information concerning the size and relationship of the three lampshades to one another.
In the case of the PH 2/1 table lamp, the 2 stands for the diameter of the upper, largest shade, which measures 2 decimeters, i.e. 20 cm.
The 1 means that the two lower shades are proportioned in a ratio of 3:2:1 to an upper shade diameter of 10 cm.
This means that the PH 2/1 table lamp combines the upper shade of the PH 2/2 with the two lower shades of the PH 1/1 wall lamp, the latter being no longer in production.
