Design Story

Abgemahnt from and by Nils Holger Moormann breaks with the conventional concept of the side table and impresses with its high quality materials and its reduced, clearly defined, individual look and for all through its freshness. The foot of the table is formed from solid spruce, enclosed on two sides by a frame of hot-rolled steel rod and which extends into the air and thus serves as the support for the FU (birch plywood) table top. But not only. Extending beyond the table top the steel rod subsequently forms a handle; albeit not in the middle of the table top, but is slightly offset. Just one further peculiarity of the Moormann side table. As is the "Stand-by" logo stamped on the base: the Moormann table was originlly called stand-by, until a legal dispute forced a name change. Nils Holger Moormann founded his eponymous company in 1982 in Aschau, Bavaria. A central focus of the Moormann philosophy is offering young talented designers a platform for their work, thus achieving long-term success for both. Moormann designs are characterised through their reduction to the essentials, posses an enduring contemporary feel and inspire through intelligence - and all this with a subtle wink.

Simple and precise - Abgemahnt from Moormann consists of only a few components
