Sauerbruch Hutton

Louisa Hutton and Matthias Sauerbruch studied at the Architectural Association in London before establishing their joint practice in which context they have realised numerous award-winning projects including the Umweltbundesamt in Dessau, the Museum Brandhorst in Munich, and the GSW head office in Berlin, which is included in the MoMA New York architectural design collection. In addition to creating their own work based on their understanding of architecture the sharing of knowledge has always been important to both of them: Matthias Sauerbruch taught at the Technical University Berlin and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart from 1995 to 2007, and since 2007 both teach at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. The product range of the duo Sauerbruch Hutton is in no way inferior to their buildings: the Munich series, consisting of a lounge chair, a footstool and a sofa that was originally created for the Museum Brandhorst in Munich, is now distributed by ClassiCon and stands as testament to their principles of high standards combined with sensuality and sustainability.
