Design Story

With the aim of bringing modern design into the average American home the American designer George Nelson developed from the late 1940s onwards a collection of clocks, a collection to which the Vitra Turbine Clock belongs. The gracefully sculpted Vitra Turbine Clock features 12 radiating sheets of brass, which are arranged around the central dial of aluminium and used as a guide when reading the time. As with all Vitra Nelson clocks the Turbine Clock offers a pleasing and original alternative to the usual range of wall clocks. The Vitra clock is supplied with a modern quartz movement, including a 1.5 volt battery.
