Care | Lacquered surfaces of natural wood tolerate neither damp heat or alcohol, therefore all spilled liquids must be wiped up immediately. When cleaning, water should only be used in small quantities - if possible only a damp cloth. The amount of patina the surface takes on and how quickly this happens depends on the type of wood and the amount of sunlight. |

The cooperation between the designer Arne Jacobsen and manufacturer Fritz Hansen dates back to the 1930s. The first real success however was celebrated after some 20 years thanks to Jacobsen's Ant chair; a chair which although a popular success appealed less to Fritz Hansen on account of its three-legged base. Thus Jacobsen re-developed his design and the result was the Series 7 Chair, a four-legged chair and one which not only quickly became a design classic to rival the Ant, but with over 5 million copies sold worldwide, the most successful chair in the Fritz Hansen portfolio. The concept is as simple as it is original: a one-piece moulded wood veneer seat shell is combined with a range of bases, and thus allows the Series 7 to serve a wide range of functions: including a Series 7 Children's Chair. Featuring a slightly modified, child friendly seat shell the Fritz Hansen children's chair is in essence exactly the same as the adult version, just smaller.
