Mathias Hahn

Born in 1977 in Germany, Mathias Hahn graduated from Essen in 2004, whereupon he moved to London, completing his Master's degree at the Royal College of Art under Ron Arad. While still a student Hahn gained experience in product design at Volkswagen, and in 2006, he was one of the founding members of OKAYstudio where he worked on a wide variety of projects for clients such as Marset, Kvadrat and the German Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin. For Mathias Hahn two aspects are important in his work: one is based on functional questions, that the work address certain problems in everyday life, the other focuses on a playful, narrative aspect, so that not only useful objects emerge, but also a certain sense of humour or a trace of refreshing naivety is added.
