Eugenio Perazza, the founder of Magis, has long been searching for a suitable table for his then two year old granddaughter - the very obvious lack of good children's furniture providing the inspiration for the Magis Me Too collection, the Italian furniture manufacturer's children's collection. Rather than simply shrink existing designer furniture objects from the adult world to that of the child, Perazza searched for new ideas that would meet the actual needs - and interests - of children, and for designers capable of seeing the world through the eyes of a child. When the Magis Me Too collection was finally launched in 2004, Eugenio Perazza had assembled a roster of international designers, each of whom designed very different objects for the project. These include children's tables, such as the versatile Linus by Javier Mariscal or Little Flare by Marcel Wanders, the kids chairs Alma and Seggiolina Pop, the clothes rack Paradise Tree by Oiva Toikka, as well as design objects between a chair and toys like the endearing Puppy. Yet despite the variety of designs the Magis Me Too collection is united by its originality and attention to detail. In addition, the Magis furniture for children are largely made of plastic, and thus all products are robust and easy to clean.
