The design of the PH 3/2 Table Lamp comes unmistakably from Poul Henningsen and is realised to perfection by the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen. The collaboration between Louis Poulsen and Poul Henningsen laid the foundation for the development of the company and the PH 3/2 Table Lamp is only one of the signature products designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen. All Henningsen's lamps are characterised by the combination of aesthetic design and intelligent technology: in this case this specifically means the three-shade lamp head, as known from the pendant lamp collection, and which means the table lamp radiates its diffuse, warm light symmetrically downwards and sideways at exactly the right angle. The PH 3/2 series currently includes table lamps of different materials and sizes, yet they all cut a classically elegant figure on the living room, bedroom, conservatory or dining room table.

What does the '3/2' stand for in the PH 3/2 table lamp?
Since their creation in the late 1920s a dual number system has been used for the names of Poul Henningsen lamps with their three-part shade system.
The numbers provide information concerning the size and relationship of the three lampshades to one another.
In the case of the PH 3/2 table lamp, the 2 stands for the diameter of the upper, largest shade, which measures 3 decimeters, i.e. 30 cm.
The 2 means that the two lower shades are proportioned in a ratio of 3:2:1 to an upper shade diameter of 20 cm.
This means that the PH 3/2 table lamp combines the upper shade of the PH 3/3 with the two lower shades of the PH 2/2.
