The right coffee table for your living room

Noguchi Coffee Table from Vitra

Whether relaxing at the end of the day on the sofa, or when the family is together on Sunday, coffee and sofa tables are a practical and aesthetic component of any living room furnishing, not least because they create the right atmosphere and reflect the very personal taste of their owners. As with all furnishing decisions, there are some practical aspects to consider when choosing the right coffee table. In order that the table blends harmoniously into the furnishings, it should be half to a third of the length of the sofa, in addition, there must be enough space between the sofa, coffee table and other furniture to ensure comfortable sitting and freedom of movement in the living room. Designer occasional tables are not only characterized by their versatility in terms of their size. With models in materials as diverse as brass, wood or marble, in a simple or playful design, there is a suitable model for every taste and interior: be that modern classics from Knoll International or Thonet, such as Marcel Breuer's Thonet nesting table set B 9 a + b, or contemporary designs by manufacturers such as Hay or Menu. A particular highlight amongst the contemporary coffee tables is, for example, the luxurious ClassiCon Bell Coffee Table, which with its mix of glass and brass never fails to delight.
