The LSR was designed in 1950 by Charles and Ray Eames as part of their plastic family: a collection of multi-function chairs that revolutionised furniture design and which remain as relevant today as then. Remaining faithful to the Eames design the re-issue of the LSR Plastic Chair by Vitra features an organically shaped plastic shell formed from resource-saving recycled materialin combination with its filigree metal base.

What does the designation RE stand for in Eames Plastic Side Chair RE LSR?
The designation RE means that the Eames Plastic Side Chair RE LSR is made from recycled plastic, a material from which the Eames Plastic Chairs RE have been produced since the beginning of 2024. With the introduction of the new sustainable material, three new colour nuances were also introduced, the new white “Cotton White”, the new yellow “Citron” and the new green “Emerald”, which replace the previous colours white, sunlight and green respectively.
