Komplot Design
Komplot Design
If one had to describe Komplot design in one word, it would probably be: innovation. The designs by Poul Christiansen and Boris Berlin are full of experimentation: experimentation that not only brought the duo the Danish Design Prize in 2004, but also the RED DOT Design Award as well as an exhibition at MoMA in New York. Poul, a native of Denmark, and his colleague Berlin, originally from Leningrad, have set themselves the goal of not only offering solutions for problems but rather want to show that design can be the interface between cultures, philosophies, old, and new. Their success is based on their approach: the culture and history of their countries of origin as well as their own experiences flow into every design, giving an individual and very personal touch, something that can be observed through their cooperations with manufacturers such as Hay, Gubi, Lightyears by Fritz Hansen, and Normann Copenhagen. Both designers have gone their own way since 2011.
