The history of the Kartell paper bin goes back to a 1960s design by the Italian architect Gino Colombini. Originally made of glossy lacquered ABS plastic, Kartell initially produced the minimalist design in a range of contemporary colors in opal, transparent and opaque versions made of polypropylene. Today, Kartell uses thermoplastic technopolymer made from recycled industrial scrap for its waste basket, in keeping with its commitment to sustainable production, and demonstrates its responsibility as a manufacturer to the environment with this resource-saving manufacturing process. Even domestic waste and moisture can do the robust Kartell Trash no harm and in its classic colors, the Kartell waste basket reliably fulfills its function in the nursery as well as in the office and home office. The play of the design manufacturer from Italy with form, material and color has been bearing fruit since 1949 and seems to want to reflect the Italian zest for life and has produced modern plastic designs which enhance interiors without threatening the environment.
