Products Rooms Manufacturers & Designers Highlights Offers Info Stores

The Stuttgart based manufacturer Richard Lampert has been part of the smow online shop from the start, for all with their Eiermann portfolio, at whose core is the so-called Eiermann 1 frame, designed by Egon Eiermann in 1953 and today a much sought-after classic among architects' tables. And an objet that is a natural in the curated smow range.

Thus we are delighted to be able to offer you the Eiermann table in an exclusive promotion to mark the 15th birthday of the smow online shop.

RICHARD LAMPERT & SMOW: EIERMANN FOREVER

Michael is one of the four founders and managing directors of the smow online shop. He takes care of business development, marketing and administration at smow. In conversation, Michael tells us what the smow online shop means to him and what the Eiermann table and smow have in common.

"With the smow online shop we wanted to offer products that we ourselves think are great, but also show our customers the stories behind the products", says Michael in an interview. A desire that initially means careful research into the content, the selection of the product range, but also the technical structure of the shop, the visual preparation and discussions with potential manufacturers. Such as Richard Lampert who explained the exciting story behind the Eiermann table, a work which has since become a focus product in the smow online shop.

The online shop is a kind of business card, a showcase for smow's product range. An interesting finding was that the customers who browse the website also want to "experience" the products and get advice about them. Michael quickly realized that trust can best be built locally and therefore invested more and more in our stores in the local cities.

Managing Director Michael Petersen

Of the many great smow products one item in particular always stands out for Michael: the Eiermann table by Richard Lampert. In addition to its iconic design, what particularly impressed him was its functionality - Michael's children all "grew up" at Eiermann tables - in the truest sense of the word.

The history of the Eiermann table could also be a smow story: Egon Eiermann developed a table that never existed before that could meet his own needs. A simple idea has become a design classic.

And now Richard Lampert is taking the next step with technical development: the prototype for an electrical and infinitely height-adjustable Eiermann table was presented in Milan this year, a development which enables combined use as a standing-sitting table.

We work in a similar way at smow: We don't want to stand still, we also let ourselves be inspired by our customers and try to respond to their needs in the best possible way - be it with a height-adjustable version of a classic table or a new smow store in a city which we were not represented before. And the smow online shop will continue to be the place where customers begin their journey with us in the future; an invitation or a window that opens to the smow world and creates a transition to the on-site design experience.
