Interior design with orange tones
Fascinating world of colours: Orange
In Goethe's colour wheel, "yellow-red" or "red-yellow" is used instead of orange: thus underscoring that its name only became familiar with the increasing spread of the fruit. As the warm colour of summer, the sun and oranges, orange is said to have a mood-brightening, stimulating and lusty effect. Accordingly, orange elements in the furnishing of living and working spaces radiate energy, happiness and strength and so it is little wonder that orange is known to most as the fashion colour of the 1970s and the disco era in terms of design and interior design. Lively colour accents in the form of decorative elements, blankets, pillows and other home accessories can be placed in the living room with orange. Restrained colour concepts, in which grey or blue tones dominate, are thus enlivened and have a higher contrast. For those wanting a summery and colourful interior, orange is also recommended for furniture, whereby, pastel orange tones or a subtle salmon tone are by no means flashy or intrusive. Especially summery, light and elegant looks orange in combination with white, for example, combine an orange armchair with white home textiles and reflecting silver toned elements: the relaxed retro look is perfect!
