Details
Born in London in 1959 designer Jasper Morrison created the Air-Armchair as successor to the Air-Chair, a work which has been produced by the Italian furniture manufacturer Magis since 2000. In line with the "New Simplicity", a design movement which decisively shaped Morrison, the chair is characterised by its clean, minimalist design. As a further development of Magis Air-Chair the Air-Armchair has armrests that go directly into the chair legs and thus visually merge with them. The ergonomically designed seat offers a high seating comfort and just as with its predecessor the Magis Air-Armchair is made of glass fiber reinforced polypropylene. Plastic is not only an extremely adaptable and universally applicable material, but due to its robustness also allows the use of furniture in the indoor and outdoor use. The Italian furniture manufacturer Magis initially placed its focus on the development of contemporary plastic furniture, however has recently added further materials, most notably wood and aluminum.
