The Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa designed the Tempo clock in 2011 for the Italian manufacturer Magis. The Magis Tempo wall clock is made of ABS via a two-point injection moulding process and is available in a range of colour variations. In his design Fukasawa ignored the conventions of clock design and instead opted for a much more reduced form language, for example the traditional numbers have been replaced by simple strokes. The effect is of a contemporary clock whose aesthetic appears to come directly from the world of comics, a timepiece which is as much an eye catcher as it is a practical object. With its sober design the Magis clock recalls classic models of times past and enriches any space without drawing unnecessary attention to itself.
