One of the genuine highlights of our year is DMY Berlin.
Not just because it offers the chance to spend a week in Berlin, but because whereas all design festivals, inevitably, have a commercial aspect – at DMY Berlin it is not rammed down your throat.
Conceptual, experimental design is just as welcome as market ready products, and one genuinely has the feeling that “design” is the only thing that matters.
Egos, star allure and bottomless expense accounts belong elsewhere.
DMY Berlin 2011 is principally occupied with Finland and “Copy Culture”
Finland is guest country, and in addition to numerous Finnish exhibitors, DMY visitors will have a chance to learn a little about Helsinki’s “World Design Capital 2012” programme.
You know where we’ll be next year.
And with a symposium on “Copy/Culture” DMY are very bravely tackling some of the most current themes in international design: copyright, open design, royalties…..
We expect a few #milanuncut moments.
Aside from the main themes we are especially looking forward to catching up with some old acquaintances and making some new best friends.
And as ever, we’ll keep you updated with all the best of DMY Berlin stories and photos.
Plus a few very poor jokes.
Here you can find the full DMY Berlin 2011 programme
