Although trained as a sculpture Henning Koppel is probably best remembered for his work as a silversmith; be it designing jewelry, cutlery services or other table and household wares.
Henning Koppel also designed lamps, and Pandul have now re-issued his 1972 creation Bubi.
Originally produced in brass by Louis Poulsen, the 2010 Pandul re-issue comes in chrome, an aesthetic nod towards Koppel’s mastery with silver.
What we particularly like about Bubi is that you can use it as a pendant lamp, a table lamp, a shelf lamp, a wall lamp or a floor lamp.
Now we do know a couple of other products that almost fulfill the same function; but Bubi is the first product we have seen that does it in such a way that your not likely to blind yourself if you view the lamp from the wrong direction. The special plexiglass meaning that Bubi functions wonderfully with a 12W fluorecsent bulb.
In addition, the technical improvements made through Pandul mean that overheating problems that plagued earlier versions have been resolved and Bubi remains cool to the touch during use: and so no danger to, for example, young children or pets.
The cord colours will change to match the season – and should you wish a special colour to match your corporate branding that is not a problem.
