Truth be told we’d expected a bit more bravery from our favourite Amsterdam anarcho-artisans.
But no, no tree-trunk bench on the droog presence in Cologne.
At least there was people – in comparison to their stand at ICFF 2009 in New York where they made do with a shadylace.
High-point for us, however, was without doubt the Rag Chair.
And especially the woman who sat on it, looked at her companion and said “Hard as stone!!”
And Rag Chair is; which is of also why it is comfortable.
The reason of course is that in comparison to spreadshirt‘s plagiat the real Rag Chair is bound under extreme pressure creating a firm, yet comfortable seating experience: in addition to, obviously, a truly unique piece of furniture.
And the production process also ensures that should you spill a beer on your Rag Chair you can mop it up without any long term damage.
A truly wonderful piece of furniture.
As is Rody Grauman’s 85 lamps, which we saw for the first time.
Shame they couldn’t find a tree-trunk though…..
