Bjarke Ingels Group


The Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) is an architecture practice founded in 2005 by architect and urban planner Bjarke Ingels, and which over the past two decades has grown organically into a large company. Today, BIG is internationally represented with around 700 employees from a wide variety of areas and with offices in London, New York, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Shenzhen. The architectural office is known for innovative architecture, which is often based on the principles of sustainable development in terms of cost and resource management and addresses social and cultural aspects of the respective context.

BIG's best-known buildings include the 8 House and the Danish Maritime Museum in Copenhagen, the West 57th residential complex in Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan NYC, and the Shenzhen Energy Mansion building complex in Shenzhen China. In terms of design BIG has developed several lights for Artemide, including the Gople and Stellar Nebula pendant lights.
