Caché Pendant

Aurélien Barbry

"My design philosophy is to give objects more simplicity and obviousness, to create a dialogue with the end user and to renew typologies."

Thanks to a love of detail and a clear intention, Barbry's designs appear perfectly formed and uncompromising.

Barbry gives the furniture, lights and home accessories of everyday use completely new shapes and ensures that we pay more attention to the beautiful things that surround us in everyday life.

Before Barbry worked for the renowned Pritzker Prize winner Jean Nouvel, he graduated with honours from the École Camondo private school in Paris for product design and interior design.

Aurélien Barbry has been running his own design studios in Paris and Copenhagen since 2007/08 and designs for numerous international brands in the fields of industrial design, furniture and lighting.

Die Caché Pendant von Aurélien Barbry

Le Klint folds lampshades by hand, always has, always will

For the Danish lighting manufacturer Le Klint Aurélien Barbry designed the lighting series Facet for the outdoor area and Caché, which combines purism with Le Klint characteristic design language:

The French word for "hidden" symbolizes the shade enclosed in the lamp head, a shade which Le Klint traditionally folds by hand.

In this way, the craftsmanship that the lighting manufacturer has retained from the beginning is repeatedly revealed and once again proves that Le Klint never stands still in the development of contemporary lampshades.
